This module is an introduction given to students about the fundamental concepts, technologies, and systems on which information and communications technology (ICT) is based. Students will be able to learn about computer hardware, software, networking, data management techniques, and usage of ICT in facilitating business activities. The curriculum also focuses on modern tendencies and how the implementation of digital technology affects organizations and the society. It equips students with more complex ICT topics and applications.

This module presents the students with different contemporary system development approaches in the development of software and information systems. Students will be taught about principles, phases and tools of the different traditional and contemporary approaches which include Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps. The course puts importance on choosing suitable methodologies depending on the needs of the project. It equips students with skills of engaging and undertaking system development projects successfully.

This module introduces the students about simple functions and roles of operating systems, computer networking and IT infrastructure. Students will acquire the knowledge on the way systems communicate, network structure and how the various elements of IT collaborate to aid in the running of business. The course lays the groundwork on IT environment management and troubleshooting skills.

This module examines new modern practices in management and leadership in the contemporary business world. Students will gain knowledge in team leadership, decision making, communication, change management among other key areas. The course assists in gearing up realistic skills to become an effective leader who is able to accommodate the demands of any company.

In this module, students will be receiving an introduction on how the basics of computer programming are introduced to a student through a high-level languages like Python or Java. Students will be introduced to concepts in programming such as variables, control structures, functions and data types. The course builds logical thinking and problem-solving skills with practical coding exercises.

This module undertakes the basic concepts of cloud computing and virtualization technologies. Students will learn about cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS), deployment methods and advantages of virtualization in modern IT environments. The course offers a practical knowledge on the application of cloud and virtual systems in provision of scalable, flexible and efficient business solutions.

In this module, students are aimed at exposing the principles and techniques of ICT project managing and leading organizational change. Students will be able to learn how to plan, execute and monitor technology projects and also learn how to manage change effectively in dynamic business environments. The course lays an emphasis on project lifecycle management, stakeholder engagement, and risk mitigation strategies in ICT contexts.

This module provides a foundation to database design and management among students. Students will also be taught to organize data, make database structures, and utilize SQL to store and retrieve DB records. The course assists in accomplishing competence on how to handle data in business and IT settings.

This module assists students in being job ready in the ICT industry through the development of job readiness skills which include resume writing, techniques of an interview and the ability to communicate professionally. It also brings in moral duties of the ICT practitioners such as privacy of data and proper use of technology. Students will be taught how to develop as a professional worker and be ethical in the digital world.

This module enables students to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the program in a real or simulated ICT project. Students shall design, plan and execute a full-scale solution to an actual problem. This project will engender teamwork, problem-solving and communication skills and equip the students to become ready for the workplace.
